Did you know……in September, Governor Brown vetoed SB1449 (by Leyva) which would have mandated testing of rape kits in a specified time? Some funding was provided in the state budget for starting to test the backlog. It is not enough. There are an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 un-tested kits in California.
